Adopt-a-Wedding

Lifelong joy. Without lifelong debt.

For families in poverty, a child’s wedding is both a dream and a dilemma. The emotional joy is real, but so is the financial strain. Without help, many can’t afford even a modest simcha, and the choice becomes one between deep debt or painful disappointment.

Sponsor a Wedding in Israel

Jewish couples around the world are invited to sponsor the wedding in Israel of a couple in need– often on the same date as their own. Others give in honor of a birthday, anniversary, yahrtzeit, or as a merit for their own needs. Every gift is a fulfillment of the unparalleled mitzvah of hachnasat kallah (helping a bride start out) and a lifeline for a couple starting their new life with very little. With more than 37,000 Jewish marriages in Israel each year, adopting a wedding is a meaningful way to participate in this special mitzvah.

You can also choose to gift the new couple the essentials they need to set up their new home by donating to our Kol Kallah Bridal Vouchers fund.

“Each and every month since the wedding, when I go over my bills that need attention, I thank HKB"H and American Friends of Yad Eliezer / B’ezri over again. Anyone who has ever needed to pay with credit payment even the minimal obligations that go into seeing a young couple to the chuppah and setting up their new home will understand exactly how great my gratitude is.”
